Ginger Cake

350g Plain Flour
225g Soft brown Sugar
100g Cooking oil
3 tsp ground ginger
1tsp baking powder
½tsp bicarb of soda
Pinch of salt
50g treacle
225ml hot water
1/2 cup dried dates
Mix all the ingredients, and whisk to a smooth batter. Pour into an 8” square lined tin and bake at 180C for about 35 – 40 mins until risen.
